. Seer | Biography

Starting as a reunion of childhood friends Eric Zirlinger (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Wayne Silver (lead guitar), and Michael Denton (drums), SEER officially formed in late 2003 with the addition of Paul Komsic (former bassist). The foursome began writing and rehearsing five nights a week in a small, rundown rehearsal studio in Long Island, New York. It was here that SEER developed their sonic niche, both beautiful and evocative, drawing from grandiose arena rock, inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, Tool, Pink Floyd and Jeff Buckley. With the departure of their previous bassist, Joey None stepped up to fill the Bass position in mid 2008. Relying heavily on texture over their musicianship, SEER creates an ambient sound over an alternative rock foundation.

SEER released their debut full-length album, 2020, in March 2006. In a style that is distinctly SEER’s, 2020 showcases a sound that is both beautiful and evocative, drawing from grandiose arena rock, inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay, Tool, Pink Floyd and Jeff Buckley. Relying heavily on texture over their musicianship, SEER creates an ambient sound over an alternative rock foundation. 2020 helped the band make a mark on the New York music scene. That buzz has gained them attention in the industry, allowing them the opportunities to open up for national acts such as Days of the New, Eisley, The Sleeping, Simon Dawes, Brighten, Rev Theory, Uncrowned, and Vaeda.

In January 2007, determined to get their music to a broader audience, SEER began a whirlwind five-month tour across the U.S., performing in over 20 states, including playing at South By Southwest, in Austin, TX, captivating audiences with their powerful and emotional live show. By the time the band had returned to New York, they had become a nationally known band having had their music played on over 200 radio stations, including New York's 92.3 K-Rock Radio, as well as Maxim Radio on Sirius 108.

SEER is currently working on their second album, which is being produced by Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions, Hopesfall) at VuDu Studios, in Freeport, New York.
